A couple of Baylor moms stayed here this weekend. We invited our college kids to visit us in the afternoon and they loved the pool, the poker table, and the ping pong table. It was a quiet neighborhood where I felt comfortable enough to go for a morning jog by myself in. I also very much appreciated the early check in based on their availability that day- which was so generous. Carrie was so responsive and helpful. We had a couple of glitches, typical of an older home but every time I messaged she was so responsive and took care of everything we needed! Definitely recommend if you want to enjoy interactions and games with friends and family!! It was so super easy to get to from Baylor. Even though the city was not Waco, it was closer than many places that I’ve stayed in Waco.

Such an awesome place! The host really thought of everything and was very thorough. We felt like we were on an exotic vacation just two hours from home. Very comfortably fit our group. We left wishing it was a longer stay!

Wow! What an amazing place. The hosts have planned and prepared their home to ensure your stay is perfect. There are many fun surprises that the home includes, that aren’t listed. I won’t spoil it for you, but our family had the most memorable experience for Easter. Great Home!

If you’re looking for an experience that’s equal parts wild and comfortable, this is it. I took my sons out to the Atchafalaya Basin for a spring break trip and honestly — it exceeded every expectation.
The boat itself is roomy and well-appointed. We had everything we needed, and the hot tub after a long day was the chef’s kiss. But the real magic is what’s right outside your door. Gators drifting past, frogs singing all night long — it’s like floating in the middle of a nature documentary, except you’re actually living it.
The kayaks were a huge bonus. We paddled deep into the basin where it felt like no one else existed on earth. The privacy and the silence out there — broken only by wildlife — is something you just can’t put a price on.
This is the kind of trip that sticks with you. My sons are still talking about it. Highest possible recommendation — book it, unplug, and let the Atchafalaya do the rest.

Carrie was an excellent host. Her home was clean and cozy. We brought our 3 young grandchildren and they enjoyed their time playing in the hot tub and the back yard. Carrie was responsive to any questions we had and left clear instructions for entry into the home. The beds are comfortable and we felt right at home. We recommend Carrie and her place!

Our family had an amazing stay at the houseboat! The home was clean and comfortable, and the surroundings were absolutely beautiful. It was so relaxing and peaceful, enjoying the nature around us. We enjoyed stargazing and watching gators swim by in the river. We also took the kayaks out to explore the river a little more. Our host was very kind and responsive. I would definitely stay here again.

We all loved this house boat. We walked around the bayou and saw alligators. Brought some fishing poles and did some fishing. Grilled up top and enjoyed the hot tub. Best experience.

We had a wonderful stay at this boathouse. The house was very beautiful, cozy, and thoughtfully designed. The location was peaceful and quiet, which made our trip even more relaxing.
We truly enjoyed our time there and felt very comfortable throughout our stay. Hopefully we’ll have the chance to come back again soon and stay here again. Highly recommended!

We had a fantastic stay! The houseboat was lovely, well kept, and a really fun experience. The wildlife was endlessly entertaining and kayaks a huge plus for exploring and fishing.
